This painting is part of a series dedicated to  popular Icons, the background resemble the famous abstract paintings by Dutch painter Piet Mondrian. Mondrian ‘s famous works have been widely used in advertising and fashion since the ’60s, becoming object of popular culture. British Cultural icon and model of the swinging 60s ,Twiggy, has been painted in oils , the earrings features the “smiley face” as a reference to the acid house culture of the late 80s /90s , giving the painting a little playful twist .
